How this website looks after your information.
The short version: the site collects as little as possible, sets no tracking cookies, and never asks children for personal details.
Anonymous visitor statistics
To see which pages, games and books people enjoy, the site records anonymous events (a page was viewed, a PDF was downloaded, a book was added to the basket, roughly how long a page stayed open). Each visitor is represented by a code that is rebuilt from a daily-changing hash of the connection, so it cannot be traced back to a person, and no IP address is stored. The browser's timezone and language are recorded to understand roughly where readers are. No cookies are used for this.
Orders and payment
When you press Pay now, payment happens on Stripe’s secure page, not on this website: Stripe collects your card details, email and delivery address and passes Mimi only what she needs to post the book — your name, address, email, and the dedication if you asked for one. This website never sees your card. Stripe’s own privacy notice covers what it holds. If you send a basket of several books instead, your details go to Mimi by email so she can reply with a payment link. Either way they are used only to fulfil your order and to reply to you.
Digital editions
When you buy a digital edition, Stripe tells the reader that the payment went through and the reader sets an essential cookie on your device so the book stays open for a year. Your private reading link is the only thing that opens the book; each page is marked with part of it. Nothing else about you is stored by the reader.
Things saved in your browser
Your night-mode choice, story-passport stamps, saved colouring pictures, calm-corner layout and basket are kept in your browser's own storage. They never leave your device and you can clear them at any time in your browser settings.
Google Analytics (optional)
If Google Analytics is switched on, a small bar asks first. Only if you say yes does Google set its analytics cookies; choosing "Essential only" keeps things as they are.
Contact forms
The forms open your own email app with the message written out, so it is sent from your address to Mimi’s. The website itself does not store or send it. Please don't include a child's personal details in a message.
Fonts
The typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google’s servers for them when a page opens. Google may see your IP address as part of that request; it does not set cookies for it.
